Hundreds of people gathered on Redondo Beach to celebrate the 48th annual Festival of the Kite on Sunday, March 13, 2022. The festival — one of the longest-running kite festivals in the country — featured live music, dance performances and prizes for the highest-flying kite and the youngest kite flier. Kites of every color and kind took to the sky during the festival. Some were even reminiscent of colorful monarch butterflies and llamas printed on neon-colored kites.
