The Los Angeles Times announced Monday the in-person return of the 2022 Festival of Books at USC. The 27th anniversary of the festival will kick off on April 23, 2022 and will celebrate “writers, poets, artists, filmmakers, musicians and emerging storytellers,” according to the LA Times website.

USC said in an email to staff on Wednesday that it will continue its tradition of featuring the work of students, faculty, staff and alumni at two venues: one indoor and one outdoor. The indoor stage offers panel discussions, while the outdoor stage presents arts and entertainment.

The festival, which is the largest book festival in the United States, includes exhibitor booths, author signings, performances and free activities. This year marks the first time the event will be held in person since the start of the pandemic. It draws about 150,000 attendees annually. Ticket sales will begin when the lineup is announced on March 14.

The festival will take place from Friday, April 23 to Saturday, April 24.
