A tropical bird has found a new home in the concrete jungle

Many myths debate how the Quaker parrot settled in the United States. Some involve an escape from JFK amid mob searches of Lufthansa cargo. Others focus on crates falling off a truck. Regardless of how they arrived, the parrots seem to be here to stay — and they’ve gained quite a bit of local attention, including from one man who leads unusual tours: Parrot safaris.
