69% of black adults with mental illness and 42% of black adults with serious mental illness received no treatment in 2018. Some of the reasons for the lack of treatment has to deal with a few things but are not limited to the racial injustice Black people experience throughout their life, trauma and the dismissive acts that some white mental health professionals exhibit towards Black patients.
