Heal the Bay is working towards cleaner oceans... one cigarette butt at a time.

The non-profit organization and almost 14,000 volunteers picked up over 30,000 pounds of trash in just three hours on our California beaches.

Talia Walsh and Heal the Bay are working towards a brighter and cleaner future for our beaches. After quitting her job in the entertainment industry, Talia wanted to give back to her community and follow her passions of protecting wildlife habitats, so she joined the non-profit organization. Heal the Bay works to protect beaches, and it does so through such events as the California Coastal Cleanup Day, which recently took place and saw 14,000 people show up in Los Angeles County alone. Along with physically cleaning trash, Talia and Heal the Bay work to spark lifelong advocacy by teaching kids how to keep beaches healthy. According to Talia, it’s best to start with the youth since they will be the ones working to reverse damage caused by global warming and pollution.
