John Jackson III enrolled at USC in the spring of 2019 after spending 2018 as a part-time junior college student.
John Jackson Jr., his father, was an all-conference football and baseball player. His grandfather, John Sr., was USC’s running backs coach and offensive coordinator in 1971. After his father suffered a stroke in December 2018, JJ found a greater appreciation for his father, time with his family and the game of football.
While he carries pride in repping the Jackson family name around USC, he knows he has to make a name for himself. The pressure of following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather doesn’t phase him; JJ knows the legacy he wants to create for himself.
Off the field, Jackson is just a regular kid. He enjoys music, photography and video game competitions with his friends. JJ explained that there is life outside of football, and he appreciates the quality relationships he’s made.
From a not so traditional start to college, to overcoming adversity alongside his father, John Jackson III is more than a number.
