USC women’s lacrosse player shares about the connection between the sport and her family

McMahon talks USC lacrosse and her family involvement in the sport.

USC women's lacrosse attacker Izzy McMahon is having a career season in her first year as a Trojan. McMahon began her collegiate lacrosse career at the United States Military Academy before transferring to USC. She sat out the 2017 season and began playing for USC this spring.

In her first season, she is among the team leaders in goals and assists. She is not the only McMahon in her family to play lacrosse, or even play for USC. Her sister Gabby played for the Trojans from 2014-2017, earning all-MPSF honors.

McMahon has also had the opportunity to face her sister, Daniella, who is a freshman at Stanford twice this season. She may get another opportunity in the Pac-12 tournament.

During her interview, McMahon talks about the season so far, her experiences following in her older sister's footsteps, and playing against her younger sister. She also discusses how her family became so involved in lacrosse and what it's like transferring from West Point to USC.
