Each year, Universal Studios Hollywood gives back to the community with an outreach program, “Day of Giving.” On Nov. 10, employees will volunteer with six non-profit organizations, many under Universal’s Discover A Star Foundation, to better lives throughout Los Angeles. Universal will host Habitat for Humanity and Operation School Bell, along with other locations hosting different organizations.
With Operation School Bell, 250 homeless children from 20 Los Angeles Unified School District elementary and middle schools will be welcomed with new clothes, school supplies and an exciting visit to the park's "Wizarding World of Harry Potter" and "Despicable Me Minion Mayhem." Other park experiences on the "Day of Giving" include the "Super Silly Funland" play zone and Studio Tour, which features "Fast & Furious: Supercharged."
When volunteers aren't at the theme park, they'll be across LA helping other organizations, such as AIDS Project Los Angeles in North Hollywood, Children's Hospital Los Angeles, Project Angel Food and Shane's Inspiration.
