Staff Picks: How to Do 'Halloweekend' Right in LA

With one of the USC student body's favorite holidays upon us, the Annenberg Media staff compiled some of the best Halloween events going on around the city to make it easier for you to enjoy your weekend.

Friday, Oct. 28

WOK-ing DEAD Halloween Party

The largest Halloween party on the Westside will feature a costume contest and music from DJ Frankie and DJ Ivory. Prizes will be awarded for Best Zombie, Sexiest, Scariest, Most Original and Best Overall. The multi-level outdoor space will also have food and drink specials from 8-10 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 29

NoHo Monster Bash

Heroes vs Villains is this year's theme for the annual Monster Bash. Costumes are required and prizes will be handed out throughout the night. Entertainment will include a DJ and an act performing every 30 minutes.

La Nuit de Diable

The Urban Renewal Project will provide entertainment at this event including tarot readers, stilt walkers and dancers.

Sunday, Oct. 30

Silent Party LA Halloween Bash

Every attendee wears headphones and listens to their own music at this unique party. The Halloween Bash will feature special guests and "surprising scares."

Rooftop Cinema Club Screening of Beetlejuice

The cult classic Beetlejuice will screen at the roof-top Ricardo Motablan Theatre in Hollywood on Oct. 29. Organized by LA's Roof-Top Film Club, movie-goers can lounge on lawn chairs and keep warm with provided blankets. Food, drinks and cocktails are options for those who prefer to munch while watching Halloween films.

Monday, Oct. 31

West Hollywood Halloween Costume Carnaval

With half a million attendees, the West Hollywood Halloween Costume Carnaval has been dubbed as the largest outdoor Halloween street party in the world. Live entertainment will be provided across six stages with nationally recognized bands, DJs, drag shows, comedians, and performance art. Crowning of the Queen of Carnaval (past recipients include Rihanna, Lisa Vanderpump and Ryan Seacrest) will take place on the main stage.
