"Blindspot" continues to get more intense as the episode shifts the momentum of the series. Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander) who has been trying to leave Oscar's (Francois Arnaud) operation for some time, was discovered to be linked to Oscar's team by Bethany Mayfair (Marianne Jean-Baptiste).
In a heartbreaking scene, we witness Bethany confront Jane about her betrayal of the FBI while holding a gun when suddenly, a bullet hits Bethany from behind, Oscar shooting her cold bloodedly. Bethany, who's lying down on the floor with blood spilling all over, makes one last attempt to shoot Jane as she truly believes Jane is part of the group that set her up. As Jane is blocking the wound with her hand to prevent further bleeding, she attempts to explain that Bethany is misunderstanding her character and her loyalty really does lie with the FBI. The last words that Bethany spews as she slips away, is that she can't imagine how Kurt (Sullivan Stapleton) will react when he finds out that Jane has been lying to him and betrayed the FBI.
Whether Jane is for the FBI or not has been the most interesting question viewers have been wanting an answer to. How will Kurt react when he finds out that Jane has been double crossing them? Jane's character is interesting because it's hard to analyze. On the one hand, she emphatically tells Oscar, "I don't trust you, and whoever I was before, I don't trust her either. I am not your asset inside the FBI anymore. I am FBI." However the problem with her constant statements is that while she tells Oscar that she's out, she always comes back. If Oscar asks her to put in a hidden chip inside the offices of the FBI, she may refuse to do so at first, but ultimately ends up doing it. If Oscar asks her to put in hidden GPS trackers inside the cars of FBI members, she might very passionately say no, but later will.
Jane is split right down the middle. The new Jane, the one who came out of that bag without a recollection of who she was, wants to be with the FBI with every fiber in her being. A darker side of her still has a personal connection with her old team, especially with Oscar. Who is Jane Doe? Is her heart really with Kurt Weller and the FBI, or is heart still with Oscar and her old team?
As the previews indicate for the season finale, Agent Kurt asks Jane Doe who she really is. It seems as though Jane will loose her memory once again. Where will the final episode lead us to?
