Hosted by the USC Concerts Committee and USG Program Board, Springest 2016 was similar to a mini-Coachella held at USC's very own McCarthy Quad. The event was a success, drawing hundreds of students and guests to enjoy a jam packed day of events and musical festivities. It was also the perfect balance of hip-hop and house music with headliners Jeremih and Jamie xx, not to mention soulful vibes from the talented musician Andra Day.
1.Turning Up to Jeremih
Los Angeles got a taste of Chicago talent Jeremih on Saturday night at Springfest. Known for his collaborations with Ty Dolla Sign, 50 Cent, Shlohmo and more, Jeremih had the crowd moving and singing along to his famous lyrics. He closed his performance with his hit single "Planez" featuring J.Cole.
2. Jamie xx
It's not a music festival without a touch of house music. British DJ and music producer Jamie xx closed the night with a stellar DJ set that had the crowds jamming to the beats.
3. GREENHAUS Dome
From guided meditation and yoga during the day to a packed dome turned into a dance floor at night, the geodesic dome was a definite must-see at Springfest this year. The dome held DJ sets by artists Jynjo, Santi, Matt DiMona, Massi, Bianca Lexis, Ulf Bonde and Matt Ossentjuk.
4. Photobooth
You can't forget the perfect photo opportunity at the prop-filled photobooth. Festival attendees filed through the photobooth to capture their special moment at the music extravaganza.
5. "Be Kind" Flower Giveaway
Be Kind was so kind as to giveaway flowers to attendees. Perhaps it's not exactly like the flower crowns that flood Coachella but it's definitely the next best thing, free flowers.
6. Andra Day
Springfest attendees were movin' and groovin' to the soulful music by the talented R&B artist Andra Day. Her evening set was the perfect transition into the night's festivities.
7. Food Trucks Galore
Just like the endless food options at Coachella, Springfest had festival attendees covered from refreshing ice cream from King Kone to cheesy bites like the Mac 'n Rib from The Grilled Cheese Truck. Additional food truck options included Border Grill Truck & Catering, Jogasaki Sushiburrito and The Boba Truck.
8. Beer Gardens
A must-have at every music festival are the beloved beer gardens, a nice area nestled amid the musical festivities to vibe to the music and enjoy a drink.
