'Blindspot' Season 1, Episode 13: 'Erase Weary Youth' Recap

The most intense episode to date.

More action in episode 13 of "Blindspot" (NBC). More action in episode 13 of “Blindspot” (NBC).

In the most intense episode yet, Jane Doe (Jaime Alexander) is accused of being a mole for a Russian spy group that has plotted many terrorist attacks throughout the show. However, it isn't just Jane under investigation, but the entire FBI team. Jonas Fisher (John Hodgman), an internal affairs investigator, has everyone on the team under a loop plotting to use falsified evidence against Jane in hopes to prove that she's the mole who killed Patterson's (Ashley Johnson) partner.

Jonas finds evidence through a suspect the FBI detained for questioning. As agent Kurt Weller ( Sullivan Stapleton) continues to investigate the matter, he realizes that the suspect gave a confession that said Jane was a mole working for Jonas, who's the real double agent himself. Once Kurt gets a hold of this information, he runs over to where they're keeping Jane. When Kurt arrives, Jonas is on the run. Jane manages to catch him, but gets shot.

This was a huge turning point in the show as Jonas was portrayed to be a gritty man who wanted to take over the FBI. However there's still an uncovered double agent who's helping out the CIA by revealing information concerning the FBI.

There's a character shift with Jane as she seems to be on board again with the FBI. She continues to doubt the integrity and intentions of the mystery man who claims knew her before her memory loss. Her character revolves largely around helping the FBI to solve the puzzles that are tattooed on her back. If she starts to go down the path of betraying the FBI and following orders from this mysterious man, then her character would be somewhat unbearable to watch in future episodes. It'll be very interesting to see where her character goes in the weeks to come while she's still torn between sides.

Lastly, Agent Kurt Weller is a true superstar at the highest level. Agent Weller is really passionate about his job and can think really quick on his feet. The greatest quality about agent Kurt Weller is the fire that drives him to fight for his family and team. He'll lead to victory by revealing the real mole, and perhaps the romantic relationship with Jane that many viewers have longed for is somewhere near.
