The feature film Trumbo (2015), starring Bryan Cranston, is based on the true story of blacklisted writer Dalton Trumbo. His children, Nikola, Christopher and Mitzi, spent their most formative years watching their father hold on to the fundamental right to free speech at a great cost to he and his family. Dalton Trumbo's son Christopher sat down with archivist Donna Granata to record his oral history for the Focus on the Masters Archive in 2005. The following excerpts illustrate a traumatic event Christopher endured as a child of a blacklisted parent.
