This past weekend, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders swept the Nevada caucuses, winning a greater vote count than Vice President Joe Biden, Mayor Pete Buttigieg and Senator Elizabeth Warren combined.
Bob Shrum, director of USC’s Center for the Political Future, told Annenberg Media that Sanders’ stance as the front-runner had been established. It also has vast implications for the upcoming South Carolina primary on Saturday and for Super Tuesday on March 3.
"If Bernie Sanders wins South Carolina, then Joe Biden’s campaign is effectively over and Michael Bloomberg may emerge as the alternative, because unlike Pete Buttigeg or Elizabeth Warren, he has the resources,” Shrum said.
