Halsey Takes USC To The 'Badlands'

The "Ghost" singer was on campus promoting her music and Samsung Level.

It looks like USC has become the badlands- Halsey's "Badlands" to be specific.

At USC this weekend, 150 lucky students had the opportunity to get up close and personal with up-and-coming singer Halsey in a Music Lab sponsored by Samsung Level and hosted by USC's Concert Committee. Beforehand, Halsey also toured the campus, even posing with Tommy Trojan.

Halsey began her career by posting YouTube covers and ricocheted to stardom after posting her song "Ghost" on Soundcloud in 2014. Since then, she has co-headlined a tour with Young Rising Sons, opened for Imagine Dragons on their summer tour, released her debut album "BADLANDS," and most recently recorded a duet with Justin Bieber, "The Feeling," on his new album "Purpose."

Long before the show, fans were already anxiously awaiting outside. When students entered the transformed Tommy's Place, they would hear Halsey's album blasting from the speakers while greeted with free Samsung Level U wireless headphones and a Samsung Level journal under their seats.

Interviewed by videographer Rory Kramer, Halsey opened up to Kramer regarding her sudden ricochet to stardom and her songwriting process. Fresh on the scene at 21 years old, it was almost like Halsey was having a conversation with peers, as the majority of the students were around the same age as her. The students also helped her unwind with the opportunity to ask her questions.

"If you could babysit any one of these kids- North West, Blue Ivy, or Saint West?" one student asked.

"Aw man, I'd say North West, but I can't diss Jay-Z and Beyonce like that…But I can't diss Kim and Kanye. North West. Final answer," she responded.

In addition, five lucky students had the opportunity to meet Halsey in a private meet and greet. Of course, Samsung representatives took individual photos of the students using the newest Samsung phone.

While students were expecting Halsey to sing, Halsey's fame is unparalleled to other singers that have graced USC with their presence. Halsey's appearance will be a memorable experience for those lucky 150 students.
