In the era of Covid 19, the “curve” refers to the projected number of people who contract the virus over time. This curve can take on different shapes depending on the virus’s infection rate. For example, if the virus spreads rapidly and the number of cases skyrocket in a short amount of time, the curve would be very steep. But a flatter curve means the time period is much longer, even if the same number of people eventually get infected.
