People across the state rallied to commemorate Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day. Today marks 108 years after the first steps were taken by the Turkish government that led to the killing of 1.5 million Armenians. Last year, President Biden became the first U.S. president to refer to the events as a genocide, and Gov. Gavin Newsom declared April 24 a state holiday in remembrance.
