L.A Metro blasts music as a part of new pilot program

The Westlake/MacArthur Park station is playing loud classical music to reduce crime and drive away unhoused people.

The program comes as L.A. Metro is pushing to improve “safety and customer experience.” However, riders are unhappy and say the method is counterproductive and even inhumane. Other changes include reducing the number of entrances and adding cameras.

California Governor Gavin Newsom traveled to Florida to visit the New College of Florida as part of his campaign for democracy. The campaign speaks out against red-state policies. This comes after Florida Governor Ron Desantis appointed six conservative trustees to the board to try and control the college.

USC’s Department of Biomedical Engineering has a new name. It’s now known as the Alfred E Mann Department of Biomedical Engineering after a $35 million donation, one of the biggest gifts Viterbi has received.
