Friends, family, and survivors gathered together to attend a private ceremony commemorating the opening of a memorial garden in Conejo Creek North Park dedicated to the Borderline tragedy victims. The garden’s design is intentional, with 12 granite slabs - one for each person who died in the shooting - as well as 248 pavers, designated for every survivor. The ceremony also gave away a thousand oak saplings, to represent the resilience of the Thousand Oaks community, as well as pieces of granite, from which the memorial was made of.
