A perk of going to school near downtown Los Angeles is having an endless amount of restaurants to choose from on any day of the week. In order to make dining with friends an even more enriching experience for the college student, last year a group of USC students created a weekly dinner series called Maru. In her quest to understand the origins and social significance of the exclusive dinner party, Elisa O’Reilly set out on a journey, interviewing the Maru team and previous dinner guests, to reveal how the dinner provided great food and also sparked new friendships.
