Former vice president Joe Biden announced he would be running for president in a three and a half minute video on Thursday morning.

"The core values of this nation, our standing in the world, our very democracy, everything that has made America America is at stake," he claimed in the video.

College students are already polling in favor of Biden's candidacy. A poll released by firm College Reaction found that Biden polled ahead of popular candidates Bernie Sanders and Sen. Kamala Harris.

However, some students at USC voiced concern for Biden's policies and their ability to implement actual change. Ben Pearce, incoming president of the USC College Democrats, said he was still waiting for firm stances on climate changes from Biden.

"Free college would be really nice and healthcare would be great, but we also need a planet to exist on in order to have those things," he said.

Biden is the latest Democratic candidate to make his announcement and joins a pool of almost twenty other candidates.
