In a meeting yesterday at 2 p.m. at the Civic Center, The Los Angeles City Council’s Budget and Finance Committee met to discuss several topics. One of the points of discussion was an Office of Finance report on requiring cannabis businesses to operate in a cashless manner within Los Angeles. This topic represents a cashless trend that is growing more and more common with businesses in LA. While going cashless may propose certain benefits to businesses, it has the potential to exclude certain customers. Businesses may decide to go cashless as it can lower their costs and offer a quicker purchasing process. However, this process may exclude customers who, for a variety of reasons, do not have a bank account or credit card.
