USC's student-run coffee house, Ground Zero, is closing during the 2017-18 school year for renovations. During the fall, the venue will be open for already scheduled events like open mic nights and improv shows, but the milkshake bar and restaurant area will be closed. In spring, Ground Zero will not be open at all. One barista said the new renovations would be good for Ground Zero, but the closure has put student employees and some student performers in a difficult position.
