Hollywood names attended Universal Studios Hollywood, CityWalk to celebrate the grand opening of Universal Cinema on Thursday.

Filmmakers and producers no strangers to Universal were in attendance for the opening of the new, upscale AMC 19: Steven Spielberg (Director, "Jaws"); Jordan Peele (Director, "Get Out"); Will Packer (Producer, "Ride Along") and Jason Blum (Producer, "The Purge"). No grand opening would be complete without the cutting of the red ribbon. In this case, Universal Cinema had a clever, fitting twist: a film strip cut with jumbo scissors by none other than Universal Studios Hollywood President and COO, Karen Irwin.

Universal Cinema has gone through an extensive renovation that goes in line with the Hollywood movie-making experience. Universal's renovation coincides with Universal Studios Hollywood's epic transformation to bring the entertainment experience to guests.

As Irwin stated, "It's only fitting we create the ultimate movie-going experience giving fans access to a movie theatre where they watch films in Hollywood screening rooms the same way filmmakers do."

This is true. The pre-renovation theater allows old-time guests to reminisce on good times, and now enjoy a few cocktails at the Director's Lounge on the second floor. This upscale cocktail bar is perfect for pre and post movie outings, and I loved the accents of the succulent plants decorating this area. The renovated theaters have amazing sound quality, enjoyable with recliner seats. Steven Spielberg even said that the new Universal Cinema "defines advancement with technology."

Universal Studios Hollywood continues to explore new ways to keep visitors welcomed to the entertainment world. Visitors can buy tickets here.
