In California, every child under the age of eight must be secured in a car seat or booster seat. But due to significantly increased prices, car seats have become unaffordable for many low income families. City officials say they are doing all they can to combat the issue, including hosting various educational workshops for families, and by providing free car seats to those who would otherwise not be able to afford them.
