The California Senate passed a bill on Thursday, which would increase the legal smoking age to 21-years-old. If Gov. Jerry Brown signs Senate Bill 7, the California will be the second state in the country with the new age restriction.

The California Assembly passed the bill on Thursday by a vote of 49-25.

This was part of a package of bills aiming to regulate the smoking and tobacco industries.
