For the first episode of Venture with Veronica, we took a look at Mariscos Jalisco – a seafood food truck that sells ceviche, aguachiles and shrimp cocktails. Its popularity has grown over the past years and the owner, Raul Ortega, thanks its fried shrimp tacos. These tacos are stuffed with shrimp and vegetables and are topped with Mariscos Jalisco's tomato and cabbage salsa and sliced avocado.
Mariscos Jalisco has won many food awards such as the Taco Madness Award and has made it on Jonathan Gold's 101 best restaurants. The recipe for the tacos comes from a friend of Ortega's, and he won't disclose exactly how the tacos are made because he says there are competitors who try and imitate the tacos.
The food truck doesn't move locations, you can always find it on Olympic Blvd. between Dacotah and Evergreen.
