Members of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity at the University of California Los Angeles hosted a racially offensive party on Tuesday night, which sparked a conversation about racism.
They decided to throw a "Kanye Western" themed party — which inspired party-goers to give off the appearance of exaggerated plumped lips, padded bottoms in an attempt to look like Kim Kardashian and wear baggy pants. According to posts made on social media, there were some guests who painted their faces black.

Students immediately took to Twitter using #BlackBruinsMatter to spread the word about the party. A protest is scheduled to take place at noon Thursday at the Bruin Bear on UCLA's campus. Organizers are using #BlackBruinsMatter on Twitter to spread the word.
